A few words about Erasmus

Erasmus - a program launched by the European Commission 15 June 1987 including higher education, and having to fund university students wishing to study in another European country for up to one year, and to promote European cooperation between universities from all EU Member States, EEA and candidate countries through joint curriculum development and exchanges of academic staff . The name was in honor of living in the late fifteenth and sixteenth centuries. Dutch philosopher and educator, one of the leading humanists of Renaissance, propagator of ancient culture - Erasmus of Rotterdam. An important element of the program was to accept the European Credit Transfer System for all universities participating in this program. This system enables the mutual acceptance of exams by the participating universities. His execution took place from 1987-1994, when it was replaced by the Socrates And in 1995-1999, followed by Socrates II in 2000-2007. The Erasmus program in Poland included:
 • European cooperation in the field of higher education curricula,
 • matching and coordinating course of study,
 • guaranteeing scholarships for students who, after the first year of college education in another country within the EU for a period of 3 to 12 months
 • sending students for internships at cooperating institutions, companies, organizations in European countries for the period from 3 months to 1 of the academic year; the university can also send their students to practice through Polish institutions specializing in organizing practices abroad
 • send teachers to partner universities and receiving faculty of the university in order to carry out their teaching,
 • send teachers to partner universities and other collaborating institutions, organizations, enterprises for training purposes, and by the way by making an offer Expat facilitate acclimate • cross-border partnership of universities,
 • initiating research contacts,
 • development of inter-university programs,
 • supporting the preparation of educational and linguistic.
